Background
Stephen Brown focuses his practice on business entity formation and structuring, business succession planning, wealth transfer planning, and tax-exempt organizations. He advises corporate clients on a range of issues, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements and federal and state tax disputes.
Stephen also regularly advises individuals on a range of estate planning strategies, including the use of simple and complex trust arrangements to achieve their personal and charitable objectives in a tax advantaged manner. Stephen also advises fiduciaries regarding estate and trust administration matters and has represented clients in a number of court proceedings.
Stephen joined Young Moore and Henderson as an associate in 2011 after practicing with other area firms. He graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During law school, he served as a staff member and published author of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology.
