Estate Planning, Wills, Estates and Trusts

For today and tomorrow, we help you make the right choices for you, your family and your business.

Young Moore and Henderson provides comprehensive services to our clients in the areas of estate planning, wills, estates, trusts and estate disputes. We work with clients to develop estate plans tailored to meet the particular needs of each client and his or her heirs. We prepare a wide range of estate planning documents including wills, revocable living trusts, life insurance trusts, charitable trusts, trusts for grandchildren, durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, living wills and other estate planning tools. Our estate planning expertise also includes assisting clients with developing and implementing gift strategies to reduce estate taxes using sophisticated tools such as limited partnerships, limited liability companies, grantor retained annuity trusts and defective grantor trusts.  We also counsel individuals regarding methods to achieve favorable tax planning while fulfilling charitable interests.

We place great emphasis on providing caring service to individuals who have lost loved ones by assisting them with the often difficult tasks involved in the administration of estates and trusts. We advise executors and trustees on their fiduciary duties and assist with such tasks as the preparation and filing of accountings and tax returns; determining the value of assets for transfer tax purposes; and handling estate tax and fiduciary income tax returns while taking full advantage of the tax laws to reduce the impact of taxes on estates and trusts. We also have considerable experience in representing clients in the resolution of will disputes.

Our firm provides clients with expertise in the preparation and administration of trusts for the benefit of all types of beneficiaries. We counsel clients regarding the sensitive issues surrounding the selection of trustees and other fiduciaries. We are experienced in advising clients and designing individualized plans suited to address all types of family situations and dynamics. We have extensive experience in the preparation of trusts for the benefit of surviving spouses, children from previous marriages, as well as the preparation of pre-marital and post-marital agreements.  In addition, we assist clients with drafting special needs trusts and other trust documents for the benefit of minor beneficiaries, disabled beneficiaries receiving government benefits and beneficiaries with money management problems.

We work closely with the firm’s business attorneys to meet the needs of our clients with family owned businesses. Planning for the transition of the closely-held business to the next generation often requires the utilization of a specially crafted estate plan that may include corporate reorganizations, buy/sell agreements among shareholders, significant valuation reviews and other business planning tools in addition to more traditional estate planning documents.
