Rudy focuses his practice on estate planning, wills, trusts, wealth transfer, estate administration, asset protection, charitable gifts, business planning, will and trust disputes and premarital agreements. Rudy develops estate plans to meet the individual needs of each client and their heirs. He is skilled in designing plans that reduce taxes and often include planning for charitable gifts and family business succession. He works with clients to address planning strategies for family members with special needs. Rudy also consults with clients on asset protection issues.

Rudy and the estate and trust team that he leads place great emphasis on providing caring service to individuals who have lost loved ones. Rudy provides counsel to executors and trustees with the difficult tasks involved in estate and trust administration, interpretation of wills and trust agreements, valuations, management of estate assets, probate court filings, preparation of tax returns and taking full advantage of tax laws to reduce the impact of estate and income taxes on estates and trusts.

Rudy is a member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) where he also serves on the Long Range Planning Committee, Membership Selection Committee, and Employee Benefits in Estate Planning Committee. Prior to joining Young Moore and Henderson, Rudy was a regional trust manager for First Citizens Bank. He is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Rudy has an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Rudy is a devoted husband to his wife, Deb, and a warm and loving father to his three children. In his practice of law and in his life, Rudy acts with integrity, kindness, and decency. For all who know him personally or professionally, Rudy is a wonderful mentor and an empathetic and loyal friend.
