Martin Luther King Day 2023

Martin Luther King Jr. Day provides each of us with an opportunity to reflect and act. We can reflect upon the injustices in our world and how we can correct them, and we can act to strengthen and unite our communities. Last year the Diversity & Inclusion Committee sponsored an emotional viewing of Dr. King’s famous speech. This year the D&I committee invites you to take time to reflect and act on how you can celebrate this holiday.

REFLECT

The D&I committee will again sponsor a viewing of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech on Friday January 13. The presentation will be played throughout the day in the employee lounge, so please come at your convenience to take a moment of time and reflect on the important message.

There is also a link to the presentation on YoMo within the Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. post.

ACT

The Committee has also compiled a short list of service opportunities, community events (in person and virtual), and movies to help celebrate the spirit of MLK day. There are opportunities available over the weekend and on Monday. We encourage you to get involved if you can and to share a photo on YOMO if you do.

We hope these opportunities will help make the holiday weekend special as we remember the life and work of Dr. King. As we reflect and act may we consider the powerful impact that we can have as we come together to make change.

The transmission of an e-mail request for information does not create an attorney-client relationship. Your initial email should only contain a list of the parties interested in the matter so that we can make sure we have no conflicts before you convey any information about your case.
