Nick Fountain Named 2024 Icon by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly

Young Moore is proud to announce that John N. (Nick) Fountain will be recognized as a 2024 Icon at the upcoming North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Icons and Phenoms Banquet celebrating the outstanding achievements and contributions of the region’s most accomplished and promising legal professionals. The event will take place on June 13th at the Wake County Shrine Club in Raleigh. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.

Nick focuses his practice primarily on matters involving Licensing Boards & Commissions. With over 55 years of legal experience, Nick is widely regarded as one of North Carolina’s foremost authorities in this area of practice. He also represents clients in various disputes involving business and real estate matters and serves as a N.C. Dispute Resolution Commission certified mediator in Superior Court and in the Office of Administrative Hearings. Throughout his career, Nick has appeared before numerous boards and commissions in Raleigh, represented clients in thousands of hearings across more than 80 courthouses in the state, and been involved in more than 40 reported decisions in the North Carolina Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, the Business Court, U.S. District Court and the Fourth Circuit.

In addition to his legal practice, Nick has been deeply involved in leadership within the legal community. Some of his most notable roles include serving as President of the Wake County and 10th District Bar, as a member of the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association, and as Bar Councilor and Advisor to the State Bar. He has been honored with multiple awards for his outstanding leadership, including the Joseph Branch Professionalism Award and the John B. McMillan Distinguished Service Award.

Nick’s dedication to community service is equally impressive. He has served as President of the Raleigh Kiwanis Club, and as a member of the Raleigh Historic Districts Commission, Raleigh Historic Resources and Museum Advisory Board, and the North Carolina Supreme Court Museum Board. Additionally, he was the Founding President of the North Carolina Voter Project and currently serves as Founding Vice Chair of Preservation Raleigh, Inc.

Nick Fountain’s unwavering commitment to excellence, both in his legal career and in his community endeavors, truly embodies the spirit of an Icon. Young Moore congratulates Nick on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates his remarkable contributions to the legal profession and the community at large.
