Joseph W. Williford presented “The Practice of Medicine in the Age of Social Media” on May 19th at a Raleigh hospital medical staff meeting. Joe discussed how social media is altering the practice of medicine through the way patients evaluate physicians, its role in support groups and treatment, and the use of it by physicians and staff. Throughout the presentation, Joe reminded his audience that it is essential for all medical facilities to have a robust social media policy implemented.
