Young Moore Receives Gordon Smith, Jr. Award

Young Moore is proud to announce the firm is the recipient of the Poe Center for Health Education’s 2018 Gordon Smith, Jr. Award. The award was established in 1992 to commemorate the crucial role Gordon Smith, Jr. played in the development of the Poe Center during his last months of life and to perpetuate his legacy. The award is presented annually to an individual or organization whose outstanding support and leadership help secure the financial security of the Poe Center.

Dawn Raynor, shareholder and employment lawyer at Young Moore, is a Past President of the Poe Center’s Board of Directors. She represents employers in matters involving workers’ compensation claims and other employment matters such as non-compete agreements, harassment and retaliation claims, ADA, FMLA and FSLA issues, employment agreement drafting and enforcement.

The Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education is a nonprofit organization dedicated to positively impacting the lives of North Carolina youth through health education. Since opening in Raleigh in 1991, the Poe Center has educated more than 1,000,000 participants from 90 counties using innovative teaching theaters, exhibits and offsite programs.
