Dust off your zoot suits, tease up your hair and get ready for a di-no-MITE night benefiting Legal Aid of North Carolina. This year’s Wake Bar Awards are going full “Decades,” taking you on a wild ride from the Roaring Twenties to the tech-savvy 2020s. Think flapper dresses, poodle skirts, disco fever and more – all for a great cause. Dress in in the style from your favorite decade and join us on Thursday, October 23 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Junction West (310 S. West St., Raleigh). The event benefits the Raleigh office of Legal Aid of North Carolina.

About the Bar Awards

The first Bar Awards were held in 2007 and have since evolved into a premiere event of the Wake County Bar Association and Wake County Bar Association Foundation. To date, more than $1 million has been donated to Legal Aid of NC through contributions raised through the Bar Awards.

“The need for our work continues to be great in Wake County. Roughly a quarter of county residents are poor enough to qualify for at least some of our services, yet current funding levels permit us to serve only a fraction of those in need. This “justice gap” is plainly evident every day at the Wake County Courthouse, where tenants are routinely evicted without legal representation, domestic violence victims seek protective orders pro se, and others are forced to navigate our complex judicial system without expert help.”

Sean Driscoll
Director of Public Relations, Legal Aid of NC
