Rudy Ogburn Elected to Board of Regents of ACTEC
Rudy L. Ogburn, shareholder at Young Moore, has been elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). The Board of Regents serves as ACTEC’s governing body and consists of 39 members, six of whom are the officers of the association.
ACTEC is an invitation-only nonprofit association of lawyers and law professors skilled and experienced in trusts and estate. It is comprised of more than 2,500 members, called Fellows, from throughout the United States, Canada, and several other countries. Fellows must have at least 10 years of experience in the active practice of probate and trust law or estate planning and are elected based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities.
Rudy leads Young Moore’s Trusts and Estates team and focuses his practice on estate planning, wills, trusts, wealth transfer, estate administration, asset protection, charitable gifts, business planning, will and trust disputes and premarital agreements. He is a former member of the firm’s Practice Management Committee and a North Carolina State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Prior to joining Young Moore and Henderson, Rudy was a regional trust manager for First Citizens Bank.
Rudy has been an ACTEC Fellow since 2000 and served as the association’s North Carolina State Chair from 2011-2016. Currently, within ACTEC, he serves as a member of its Long Range Planning Committee and Membership Selection Committee and as Chair of the Legislative Developments Subcommittee of the Employee Benefits in Estate Planning Committee.
