Rutala and Levine Present Legal Aspects of Infection Prevention in Long-Term Care Settings at 2024 SPICE Conference

Young Moore attorneys, Donna Renfrow Rutala and Brittany D. Levine, presented a session titled ‘Legal Aspects of Infection Prevention in Long-Term Care Settings’ during a 3-day conference hosted by the Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE). Hosted both in-person and virtually, this event was attended by approximately 200 infection prevention professionals.

Donna’s journey into healthcare litigation started with her roles as a Burn Intensive Care nurse, an Infection Control practitioner, and a Risk/Claims manager for UNC Hospitals. Since transitioning into law, Donna has defended healthcare clients against claims of medical malpractice and provided representation in administrative healthcare matters. She is an elected Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America™ and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© in the field of Medical Malpractice Law–Defendants (2013-2024).

Brittany is a civil litigator, with an emphasis on defending and advising clients in the health care and transportation industries. She also assists clients with navigating premises liability and business disputes. Brittany is recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America in the areas of Health Care Law and Transportation Law. She serves as a member of Young Moore’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
