Rutala and Levine Present on Legal Aspects of Infection Prevention in Long Term Care Settings

Young Moore attorneys, Donna Renfrow Rutala and Brittany D. Levine, presented a session titled “Legal Aspects of Infection Prevention in Long Term Care Settings” during a 3-day conference hosted by the Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE). The event was attended by infection prevention professionals nationwide.

Donna focuses her practice on medical malpractice defense litigation and health law. Before attending law school, she worked as a burn intensive care nurse and concurrently served as a risk/claims manager for UNC Hospitals. Donna’s background in healthcare, from both clinical and managerial perspectives, equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges confronting the healthcare industry. She is an elected Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America™ and  is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© in the field of Medical Malpractice Law–Defendants (2013-2024).

Brittany devotes a significant portion of her practice to representing clients within the healthcare industry. She defends healthcare providers and professionals in civil litigation matters and educates and advises clients in matters pertaining to healthcare privacy and data security, breach notification and reporting requirements, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. In addition to her legal work, Brittany is a committed member of Young Moore’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee underscoring her dedication to both legal excellence and creating an inclusive work environment.
