Senter to Present on HIPAA Enforcement Activities at NCHIMA Annual Conference

Young Moore healthcare attorney, David A. Senter, Jr., CHPC , will present a session titled OCR’s Annual HIPAA Report to Congress and What it Means For Your Entity at NCHIMA’s Annual Conference scheduled for June 25-27, 2023 at the Raleigh Hilton at North Hills. Young Moore is also a sponsor of the event.

During his presentation, David will dive into reports released in early 2023 by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to Congress summarizing its key HIPAA enforcement activities during the 2021 calendar year. The reports provide important metrics and information concerning HIPAA complaints, breaches, compliance reviews, and audits performed. Importantly, the reports also provide OCR’s anticipated compliance and enforcement initiatives for the following year. David will share practical steps that providers, large and small, can take to identify and mitigate potential data privacy and security risks.

David is a shareholder at Young Moore where he educates and advises clients in matters pertaining to healthcare privacy and data security, breach notification and reporting requirements, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. He previously served as the Interim Associate Compliance Officer and Director of Privacy of an Academic Medical Center in North Carolina. Read more.
