Susan Fountain Named to Power List for Medical Malpractice


Susan T. Fountain, shareholder at Young Moore, has been named to the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Medical Malpractice Power List for 2024. The list recognizes leading attorneys in the field known for their deep understanding of case law and creative problem-solving abilities. They are frequently referred by peers and sought after for their counsel, embodying the epitome of legal excellence and reliability within their field.

Susan represents hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers in a variety of matters, including medical malpractice defense and general liability. She also advises clients on avoiding and managing risks. Additionally, Susan is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct Superior Court mediations in North Carolina.

Susan began her legal career as a law clerk to Chief Judge Arnold at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, followed by an extensive career in private practice defending healthcare providers. In 2013, she accepted an appointment with the North Carolina Department of Justice, defending North Carolina state agencies in medical malpractice claims and other catastrophic injury cases. In 2017, she joined Young Moore to continue her career in private practice.

Susan is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina School of Law. She has earned an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell and is honored in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in the areas of Litigation-Health Care and Medical Malpractice Law-Defendants.
