Young Moore Proudly Supports NCFC Youth’s 50th Anniversary Fundraiser
Young Moore is excited to sponsor Beyond the Pitch: An Evening Supporting NCFC Youth, the 50th-anniversary fundraiser for North Carolina FC Youth (formerly CASL). NCFC Youth is dedicated to providing positive, high-quality soccer opportunities for players of all skill levels while fostering community engagement. The event, celebrating the impact of soccer, will take place at the Angus Barn on October 23rd, raising crucial funds for the organization’s financial aid program. This fund helps ensure that every child has access to the game and the valuable life skills that come with it.
Supporting Leadership Through Community Involvement
Young Moore attorney Elaine “Lainie” M. Moyer serves on the NCFC Youth Board of Directors. A passionate advocate for youth, Lainie has a long history of supporting children and families. While living in Pennsylvania, she served as a child advocate, guardian ad litem, and attorney advisor for a high school Mock Trial team. She also served as a parent volunteer coach for Springfield Soccer Club in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Now back in her home state of North Carolina, she resides with her husband and four sons and continues to volunteer in youth programs, promoting leadership and sportsmanship. Lainie is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duquesne University School of Law. Her legal practice focuses on complex civil litigation in transportation and general liability, as well as defending medical professionals in malpractice cases.
Honoring Contributions to Youth Soccer
As part of NCFC Youth’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Young Moore attorney William “Billy” M. Trott has been selected as one of 50 individuals honored for their significant impact on the organization. Billy, who has practiced law with Young Moore for over four decades following his service in the Navy JAG Corps, has a long history of active involvement in charitable organizations, particularly those emphasizing youth sports and environmental issues. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) throughout the 1980s, serving in various leadership roles, including as President. By the time he retired from volunteering in 1990, CASL had grown to 9,000 participants, becoming the largest youth sports program in the region, with Billy’s leadership playing a key role in its growth and success.
By 1990, when Billy hung up his boots as a CASL volunteer, the organization had reached 9,000 youth participants, and became the largest youth sports organization in the area. Click here for more details on how Billy helped CASL (now NCFC Youth) pave the way for growth.
In addition to his contributions to CASL, Trott has served the greater community in numerous other capacities, including on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, as Past Chairman of the Wake County Parks & Recreation Commission, Past President of the North Carolina Tennis Association (where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame), and President of the North Carolina Tennis Foundation, among others—all while continuing his legal career at Young Moore.
