Page and Burke Present at ALFA International Business Litigation Seminar
Young Moore attorneys, Christopher A. Page and Matthew C. Burke, presented at ALFA International’s recent Business Litigation Practice Group Regional Seminar in Philadelphia, PA. As the event kicked off, Chris took to the stage to welcome everyone and to provide opening remarks. Later in the day, Matt presented a session on Ethical Dilemmas for In-House Counsel along side ALFA member Gregory Bromen from Minneapolis, MN. The session focused on overcoming challenges associated with complying with professional responsibility rules, written primarily from the perspective of the private practitioner, while in the role of In-House Counsel where, among other differences, the lawyer’s client is also their employer.
An experienced trial attorney and shareholder at Young Moore, Chris focuses his practice on the representation of clients in the hospitality and retail industries, among others. He represents many national clients with all of their legal needs, including claims relating to business disputes, employment, trademark infringement, false advertising, premises accidents, and construction defects. After graduating summa cum laude from Duke University, Chris earned his law degree from the Yale Law School. Chris is a frequent speaker at ALFAI events and has created many presentations on a variety of litigation and business management topics. Within ALFAI, he is a former member of its Board of Directors, Chairman Emeritus of its Hospitality and Retail Law Practice Group, and a Past Chair of the organization’s Marketing Committee. He was also selected in 2017 as ALFAI’s Attorney of the Year.
Matt is a litigator and advises and represents clients in a variety of practice areas, including commercial disputes, business torts, employment claims, construction defects, insurance coverage, product liability, and various personal injury matters. He is recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in the areas of Commercial Litigation and Insurance Law. Matt is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, with high honors, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining Young Moore, he clerked for Associate Justice Cheri Beasley on the Supreme Court of North Carolina and worked in the North Carolina Solicitor General’s Office.
