About Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite

Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite honors the state’s top lawyers as selected by their peers through an online voting process. Each year, ballots are sent to members of the North Carolina State Bar who reside in the state. Attorneys are asked to identify lawyers whose work they have observed firsthand and whom they would rate among the best in specific practice areas. Attorneys cannot vote for themselves, and voting for attorneys within one’s own firm is only permitted alongside out-of-firm selections, with the latter carrying greater weight.

The top vote-getter in each category is inducted into the Legal Elite Hall of Fame and is ineligible for recognition again in that same category.
